A deep, burnished gold color, shimmering and beautiful, frames aromas of intense, creamy mashed almonds, apricot fritters, baked pears, preserved lemon, and a hint of tarragon and flowers: Powerful and round at once. The palate, however, is more structured than the nose implies it will be, with beautiful, subtly oxidative flavors of almond and almond skin, a hint of black walnut, hard peach, and a seam of spice, mineral, and acid providing excellent structure. This 100% Viura finishes a bit briny, and with more of those creamed almond flavors, it's delicious. Drink now - 2017…but it’s impossible to resist right now.
